Frank Pitetti, Captain at Ironclad Sportfishing

Ironclad adheres to all Coast Guard and Fish and Wildlife regulations and is operated by a USCG Certified licensed captain(s). Our vessel is fully equipped with modern electronics (updated in 2019), radar, A.E.D., EPIRB, life raft, and other essential safety equipment. In 2023, we upgraded to twin Cummins 425 HP QSB 6.7 engines, ensuring faster and more efficient travel. From short inshore trips to overnight excursions in U.S. Waters, Coastal Offshore, San Clemente Island, and Coronado Islands, Ironclad Sportfishing offers a diverse range of experiences.

With over two decades of experience fishing in Southern California and Mexican waters, coupled with 15 years of expertise in the Eastern seaboard, Captain Frank Pitetti brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to every fishing excursion. His passion for fishing began in his childhood in New Jersey and flourished during his teenage years in West Palm Beach, where he honed his craft in both recreational and commercial fishing, as well as on charter boats.

Captain Pitetti's dedication to customer satisfaction is unwavering, a principle instilled during his time in the United States Marine Corps, where he served for eight years. Following his military service, he continued his commitment to public service through a 22-year career in law enforcement, retiring in 2020. Since 1994, he has called Southern California home and has been exploring its waters ever since. In 2018, Captain Pitetti acquired and has been operating his vessel, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all on board. With a USCG 100 Ton License, he is well-equipped to provide a memorable and successful fishing trip for you and your group.

Introducing the Ironclad, a 38-foot Topaz Sportfisher boasting a 13-foot wide beam and a spacious bow area. Designed to accommodate up to 6 anglers on day trips and a maximum of 5 on overnight excursions, this vessel underwent a complete repowering in 2023, resulting in enhanced speed and efficiency compared to traditional cattle boats. Our commitment to safety and comfort is evident in the meticulous maintenance and modern equipment onboard. Equipped with state-of-the-art electronics, including radar and Furuno CH-500 Sonar/Side Scan, the Ironclad also features essential amenities such as a restroom, fresh water, microwave, and an 8-scoop bait capacity.
