JohR, Guide at Vermont FlyFishers

Fish the legendary rivers of southern Vermont and Eastern NY. The home waters of Lee Wolfe, Charles Orvis and John Atherton to name just a few. Manchester, as your central hub, offers tons of wonderful hotels, restaurants and activities great for the entire family but if you're all about the fishing there's 6 diverse and equally wonderful steams where you can chase wild browns, hold over rainbows, or native brookies - with over 120 miles of river to choose from you're sure to have a blast. Wade fish or for the ultimate experience book John's drift boat and get to the untouched places and less pressured fish. Either way how can you go wrong in the valley's and streams of the Taconic and Green Mountain ranges.

About Your Guide: Fly fishing is in John's blood - his father hailed from Western North Carolina with 3 generations of fly fisherman while his Mom was from Manhattan with a father who built a small cabin by hand on the banks of the Beaverkilll in upstate NY. John's first trout was taken at an early age on this famed NY river and he's brought several thousand more to hand in Western Carolina, NH, VT and places beyond over the years. As time went by and opportunities presented John pursued trout across the globe, from the Western American rivers, creeks and high altitude lakes to the rivers and streams of Labrador, New Zealand and Europe. Some of his escapades and fish have been chronicled in the Orvis News and American Angler Magazine.
